The Aqua Bakery is an independent summerwear brand from Greece, blending seaside ease with a love for quality and sustainability.

It was founded by Konstantia Michailidou, a Greek fashion designer with Austrian roots and a childhood that smelled of fresh bread and warm pastries. Growing up in her family’s bakery, she learned early that great results always start with great ingredients.

She studied fashion and styling, focusing on pattern-making, fit, and design, while the Mediterranean coastline and the islands shaped her aesthetic. For her, summerwear was never just clothing, it was the feeling of summer.

But as she looked around, something felt off. Too many summer pieces were made to last only a season, with fabric quality treated as an afterthought. The opposite of how she was raised, and far from the slow, thoughtful approach to fashion she believed in.

So in 2022, she brought together a small, specialized team and gave life to The Aqua Bakery: a boutique of freshly baked summerwear, where beautiful fabrics and careful craftsmanship take the place of flour and sugar.

What makes the Aqua Bakery different? We don’t do throwaway fashion. 

Our pieces are produced in limited, carefully managed quantities and made for durability, designed to keep their shape and color over the years.

Sustainability is embedded through the use of regenerated fibers such as ECONYL® and recycled nylon.

Finally, aesthetics are never compromised: silhouettes remain modern, flattering, and often double-faced, combining versatility with a clean look.

Every design is named after cakes and baked treats from around the world, because swimwear should be just as delightful as dessert. We work with local and international makers who share our values and our approach to responsible production.
